History
Over 50 years ago, the national Zionist youth movement of Young Judaea established a regional summer camp in Texas, better known today as Camp Young Judaea – Texas. The camp started operating in Center Point near Kerrville. Back then we did not own the facility, but rented it from Camp Christian every summer. In the first years, camp consisted of one session only. There were about 200 campers in four Aidot (units): Ofarim, Tsofim, Bogrim and Machon. Many of them are the parents - and grandparents - of our present campers! The current location in Wimberley, Texas, was purchased in 1970, and since then we have grown to our current facility, which we own and operate.  We have 10 beautiful cabins and many state-of-the art facilities including a beautiful pool with two water slides.  We currently have eight Aidot (units): Nitzanim, Chalutzim, Ofarim, Tsofim, Maginim, Kesher, Bogrim, & Segel and can hold up to 560 campers per summer!

Our Goals
CYJ-Texas strives to provide a supportive and dynamic environment in which Jewish youth can explore, grow, and mature. Our programming aims to strengthen Jewish identity, foster devotion to Israel, create lasting friendships, encourage individual achievement, and heighten self-esteem and leadership skills.

Through experiences designed to encourage a lifetime commitment to Judaism and Israel, Camp Young Judaea fulfills its mission: to educate, to inspire, and to enrich the lives of its campers.
