Privacy Policy

Updated on October 17, 2017

Camp Young Judaea, Inc.(“CYJ”) is committed to respecting your privacy and security. We have developed this Privacy Policy to explain how CYJ collects, stores, and uses information obtained through your interaction with CYJ, including through use of the CYJ website and its subsidiary pages.

Information We Collect

At times CYJ may ask you to provide your name, email address, mailing address, donation history, information about a parent/guardian, medical information, and other personally identifiable information (collectively, the “Personally Identifiable Information”). Should you choose to provide such Personally Identifiable Information, CYJ will collect and store it for the further uses outlined herein. CYJ also automatically collects and stores Non-Personally Identifiable Information about you when you visit a CYJ’s website, including but not limited to: i) your IP address; ii) general location information (based on your IP Address); iii) the date of your visit; iv) the time of your visit; v) the path taken to enter and exit CYJ’s website and the path taken as you navigate through webpages; vi) the browser you are using; vii) a list of webpages viewed during your visit to CYJ’s website; and viii) the amount of time spent viewing certain content.

If you choose to make a donation to CYJ, this may be done via CYJ’s website, by calling CYJ directly, or by providing the requisite information through a paper form. When you make a donation via CYJ’s website, CYJ will only collect and store some information connected to your transaction — specifically, your name, the last four digits of your credit card number, and a Transaction ID Number (“Transaction Information”). Because CYJ uses a third party provider to process online donations, CYJ itself will not collect any other credit card information you may be asked to supply — e.g., credit card number, expiration date, security code — in connection with your donation (“Additional Credit Card Information”). When you make a donation over the phone or by completing a paper form, CYJ will collect and store your Transaction Information but will only collect (but not store) your Additional Credit Card Information.

How We Use Information

Website Functionality & Data Analysis
CYJ may use Non-Personally Identifiable Information to support and improve website functionality and for data analysis purposes; including but not limited, to: i) managing and administering CYJ’s website; ii) tracking broad user trends; iii) improving informational offerings and website design; iv) troubleshooting; v) enforcing this Privacy Policy; and vi) other internal purposes related to the proper functioning and further development of CYJ’s website.

CYJ may use Personally Identifiable Information for communication purposes, including but not limited, to sending emails, newsletters, and other communications, on behalf of CYJ, its affiliates, organizations we partner with, and other not-for-profit organizations, including marketing and promotional communications, or for purposes of responding to comments or other inquiries submitted to CYJ. CYJ may share specific Personally Identifiable Information with its affiliates, organizations we have partnered with, and with other not-for-profit organizations, in order to allow those organizations to communicate with you directly and in order to improve our level of communications outreach and to broaden our donor base.

All donations executed via CYJ’s website are processed by a third party provider. Such third party provider will collect and use the Personally Identifiable Information and the Additional Credit Card Information you provide in order to appropriately process your donation. As noted, while CYJ collects and stores your Personally Identifiable Information and your Transaction Information, for all online donations CYJ will not have access to your Additional Credit Card Information and will therefore not collect, store, or use it in any way. However if you donate to CYJ over the phone or by completing a paper form, although CYJ will have access to and be required to collect your Additional Credit Card Information in order to process your donation, such Additional Credit Card Information will not be stored or used in any way following completion of the authorized transaction. CYJ may use the Transaction Information it collects and stores, whether from online, phone, or other donation methods, for purposes of responding to inquiries regarding transactions, issuing credits for improperly logged donations, ensuring the consistency and efficiency of payment processing, and related troubleshooting and customer service purposes.

As Required by Law

CYJ may also disclose Personally Identifiable Information, Non-Personally Identifiable Information, and Transaction Information if it believes that such action is necessary to: i) comply with the law or with a legal process; ii) protect against misuse or unauthorized use of CYJ’s website; iii) protect the personal safety or property of visitors to CYJ’s website; or iv) enforce this Privacy Policy. You authorize CYJ to disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as CYJ, in its sole discretion, believes necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, or other activity that is illegal or may expose CYJ, you, or another third party to legal liability.

Sharing of Personal Information

CYJ is committed to protecting your privacy. Except as otherwise indicated in the sections of this Privacy Policy that cover how CYJ collects and uses information, CYJ will not sell, rent, lease, trade, or share any information with anyone else.

CYJ is committed to ensuring the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the proper use of information, we have established and implemented appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We use Internet encryption software — Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol — when collecting or transferring sensitive data.

We provide you with the opportunity to remove your name from our mailing list so you do not receive any future communications from us. If you wish to unsubscribe, please email us at [email protected] or click “unsubscribe” on the bottom of our communication to you.

Information Provided to External Websites

CYJ webpages may automatically redirect you to a third party website, provide links to a third party website, or may incorporate integrated tools that allow you to share your actions, information, or content via a third party social sharing service. These external websites and social sharing services contain their own data-collection forms and privacy policies; therefore any information entered by you via such external websites and social sharing services shall not be governed by this Privacy Policy. Please familiarize yourself with the privacy policies of such external websites and social sharing services before providing your information through them.
