CIT

12th Grade Leadership Camp Program

Are you a young adult seeking a unique, fun, and rewarding experience? Consider joining CYJ as a CIT this summer!

Our Counselor in Training (CIT) program is a 4-week program available for high schoolers entering 12th grade. Participants mentor and lead campers each day, receive training on how to be successful counselors, have countless fun experiences with fellow CITs, and earn 175 hours of community service upon completing the program. Additionally, CITs will have plenty of time with their assigned cabin, where they will learn how to facilitate programs, problem solve, receive guidance from veteran counselors, and ultimately become great role models for their campers.

CITs stay in their own dorm-style housing during the program. This gives the participants the opportunity to bond with fellow CITs throughout the summer and to feel just as integrated with their CIT cohort as they are with their bunk and aidah (age group).

Being a part of the CIT program is not only an opportunity for personal growth, but it is non-stop fun! CITs participate in a variety of activities put on just for them, go on weekly trips outside of camp with their CIT cohort, and will be the best prepared staff person the following year.

To be a CIT, you must first apply to the program. Once you have submitted an application, you will be contacted to set up an interview. We have limited spaces in our program and only accept the best candidates.

The CIT experience is truly once in a lifetime.
